Last call! T minus twelve hours and counting!
Hey ya’ll! I’m super-excited to bring you ANOTHER cookbook giveaway from the nice peeps at the Book Publishing Company. Up for grabs is one copy of The Nutritional Yeast Cookbook by Jo Stepaniak. (You might…
I’m excited about today.
I’m excited about today because I’m ready to do something that’s illegally illegal.
I’m excited about today because I live in New York, and this is the place that history is being made.
I’m excited about today because it no longer matters how politicians spin our actions. It no longer matters whether immediate change comes about at all, because this has become bigger than BP, bigger than AIG, and even bigger than Wall Street. Hell, it’s even bigger than the US government itself, because this time, the people we represent are all over the world.
We represent Indian farmers who have gone into debt because of not being able to afford to buy Monsanto’s cotton seeds again and again after terminating genes killed their crops. We represent both the American AND the Mexican shores bordering the gulf of Mexico. We represent Chinese factory workers who have to work in sweltering heat because the factories’ thermometers are rigged to show lower readings. We represent the workers of Walmart who have been locked in overnight with no manager to let them out, even if they didn’t have crushed ankles that needed immediate care. We even represent the Walmart customers who many like to say have a choice on where to shop although that choice may very well be between the one supermarket that has taken over their small town and the one that doesn’t lock its workers indoors overnight with no key… 50 miles away.
We represent these people and we represent everyone else who has suffered from corporate greed from companies both large and small.
We represent me. We represent my dad.
more practical stuff i’d rather have on my chest in the place of breasts:
- a nintendo 64
- two live kittens
- a jetpack
- one of those spring-loaded boxing gloves that i could like push a button and it’d fly out of my ribcage and punch things
- dunkaroos? maybe more than one box
- a great white shark
- a karaoke machine (for parties)
Young Male Cat Looking for forever home:
This is one of the many cats that are overpopulating the area where I work at. We named him Rudy. He looks young and he is already neutered, he is very loving and friendly. He loves to be pet and when you rub his belly.
There are currently over 15 cats roaming around this neighborhood, we have tried everything to get them spayed/neutered but most organizations seem o be unable to help with the problem. My co-workers and I have taken it upon ourselves to get these cats spayed/neutered and to feed them. Most of them are very skinny.
There are also two female cats who were pregnant and we took them into our office so they could give birth safely, we currently have both moms and 5 kittens. We have one momma cat and 2 kittens that still need a home, I will post pictures of them later.
If you or someone you know can open their home to one of these cats it will be very much appreciated. The cats are in the Miami area, but if someone who lives in Florida wants them we can see what we can do to get them to you safely. If you are interested please message me via tumblr.
Many of the statements in this paper are also noted as coming from a person only identified as ‘Ibid’ in the footnotes. I am not skeptical of Ibid’s view, but I would like to find his/her article and read it for myself.

You know I was planning on writing an essay about the death of Levon Helm and what he meant to music over the past 40 years, but kept getting sidetracked by a part of his story that is even more important.
So, I’m going to just write…
The above article is an update. Her mother went to appeal to keep her out of the psychiatric ward and lost. She will be institutionalized because of her expression of her gender. She will be held until she conforms to male gender and then released to foster care, not her mother who was supporting her.
Please, if you haven’t signed the petition, sign it, reblog it, ask your friends to sign it. We’ve managed to get 40K signatures for a pageant model, we’ve only gotten 11K for a little girl about to have her life ruined. Lets get on the ball and spread the word.
